The Training Division is a multidisciplinary unit comprised of Law Enforcement, Corrections, and Civilian personnel. The Training Division is responsible for the coordination, development, and presentation of all training programs. The training staff is also responsible for maintaining class registrations and training records for the entire agency. Management and staffing of the Armory, Driving facility, Firearms facility, and all Fitness facilities throughout the agency also fall under the purview of the Training Division.
The Fitness Assistant's main responsibility is the development and instruction of aerobic activities such as Yoga and Pilates. The Fitness Assistant is also responsible for scheduling and participating in department wide health and fitness related activities, individual consultations relating to diet and exercise programs, and daily operations of all fitness facilities.
High school diploma or GED, supplemented with at least one (1) year of clerical experience and two (2) years of work experience or vocational training in health and fitness, or related experience in physical fitness training. Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills including the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Must be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of weightlifting, cardiovascular training, and flexibility.
